When I first got into gardening about 10 years ago, I really wanted to do it organically without chemicals. At the time, my Sous Chef Ty Kotz was also really into gardening and we used to swap tricks of the trade.
If you ever catch Chef Cardoz or the staff at North End Grill talking about their Urban Farm, you’ll see their eyes instantly light up. This 1000 square foot urban farmer’s haven, situated just 16 floors above the restaurant on the roof, has become home for Chef Cardoz and many staff members at North End Grill since the first seeds were planted by the team in early April. Today, you will find many ingredients from the rooftop farm on the lunch, dinner, and brunch menu.
